As the title suggests, I'm going on a hiatus. That doesn't mean I'm never going to be on dA anymore, or leave for good.
I just want to inform you guys that there won't be any images in the coming 2 months or so. Personal circumstances that have changed force me to take this step back.
I will for sure keep doing some pencil-work, but as always, I don't upload them, even if those who get to see it say I should.
But for now, neither do I have the motivation, nor do I have the time to do anything in Inkscape. I'll let you know when I continue!
Now as for the second half of the title, I got tagged by my Sweetie Pie =RainbowDashie
So, here goes: 1. Who's your favourite brony musician?
I don't have one. I listen to whatever I'm in the mood for. Some favourites of mine are TheDashDub and Evening Star. You can check them out by clicking here
.2. Excluding the fact that you might dislike it cause of its content, do you think that Cupcakes is an awesome fiction? Maybe even one of the best!? (Like: Equestria Fallout, My Little Dashie, Past Sins)
Back in the day when I joined this fandom, a good friend of mine was already in it for about half a year. And despite his strong advice not
to read it, my curiosity got the best of me (as always). So I read it, and was deeply disturbed by it. It took me some time to process the amount of violence and vivid descriptions of gore.
Cupcakes is, by no means, anything good in terms of fanfiction. It is gory for the pure sake of being gory and disturbing, it has no value whatsoever. I liked it in the end, but I don't consider it worth reading again, which only suggests to me that it is not a good piece of fiction.3. What's your favourite category of fictions?
I haven't really read any fanfiction for the last 8 or 9 months. Only one that was recommended to me, which was tragedy. And that is one of the major categories I prefer, a good tragedy/ sad fiction. I have my reasons to seek it out
When and if I ever get back to read more, I can't tell. 4. What's your #1 source of pony news? (Community updates as well)
I do not follow any news site, blog, youtube, or whatever. I'm quite done with this fandom.
I don't care whatsoever what's "new" and what the next shitstorm is about5. What keeps you motivated at what you do? (Drawing, composing music, writing etc)
Honestly, I'm not quite sure. I started drawing with the ambition of becoming a good artist and to contribute content to this fandom. While I may have improved in terms of drawing skills (I leave that up to you) I don't have this sense of appreciation and recognition anymore. I mean, why would I spend an insane amount of time on perfecting an image, if in the end, no one even gives a damn? I might as well just draw it in my head and call it done. So yeah, not sure what kept me going so far. But I'm pretty sure my friends who like to see what I do, play a major, if not dominating role in it.6. Do you take a well written critique as a chance to improve your art or you dismiss it, if you don't like it? (Even if it's well written)
Taking criticism and not let it become an issue or a demotivator is a life-long process.
When reading a critique, you don't have to take everything in it. You can take bits and pieces out of it, and learn from them, or not. It's completely up to you. When you disagree with a point made, just ignore that part 7. Ever tried adding some style to your usual art?
I always tried to keep as true to the show's style as I could. Reproduction is something very hard. Even then, I was told early on that I do have a style that is recognizable, but I never saw it myself. That came only a few months ago, when I stopped being so obsessed about the show-style, and started doing things differently. Adding my own touch to it.
But developing a disctinctive, unique style is a long process. And I certainly have not drawn enough to be at a point where I can reproduce even my own style. For example: Some days a hoof just doesn't look quite like the hoof I drew a week earlier. 8. In your opinion, what was (Maybe is) the best period of fandom so far?
I think for the majority of people, the most exciting time is always the time when you freshly discover something you like, and start getting into it. After a while, that changes. The initial euphoria vanishes, and what's left is the daily routine. But that doesn't mean every day can't be exciting
I always say, a day is what you make of it.9. What's your favourite season of MLP:FiM? (Mine's first)
Definitely Season 2. But that's a generic answer, isn't it
I won't do any questions or tag someone. I lack the time to do that part. Sorry.
